Every day we have choices to make – some small, some big! Every choice has a result, a consequence. Who or what holds the power to sway your decisions? Is it the Holy Spirit or the call of this world and the sin within it? The Bible tells us that through Jesus Christ, we no longer need be slaves to sin! Through the completed work of the cross, we are free and equipped to grow into the likeness of Christ so that our lives will be a living testimony that reflects His glory! So let’s choose life in Jesus! Let’s turn our hearts back to God and remain rooted in prayer, standing firm in our faith to defeat any attacks from the evil one. (Romans 6:6,11)

Over and over again, the world beckons to us: "Build your foundation upon what you can see. Gold is so beautiful, steel is so strong, gems glisten in the light, your growing bank account holds all you need!" We should choose not to be drawn in by the lies of the world. God tells us in His Holy Word that Jesus Christ is the only foundation that lasts for eternity. As we build our lives upon Jesus as our firm foundation, may we love in the same way that we receive unconditional love from Him. May we walk in a way that is pleasing to God by allowing His goodness to fuel our faith and draw us into a more intimate relationship with Him. And may we choose to sit quietly at the feet of Jesus, prioritizing time in God's Word and in prayer above the busyness of the world we live in. (1 Corinthians 3:11-15)

Have you ever longed to have miracles occur in your life? As we look through Scripture, and even around us, we realize that miracles seldom occur in our comfort zones. As we are willing to step out in faith, Our Lord, through the power of His Spirit, produces results beyond our wildest imagination. Whether in our prayer life, personal witnessing, or daily obedience to Christ, may we step out of our comfort zones and grow in our boldness for Jesus. (Acts 4:29)

Do you ever wonder why the writers of the Bible, and people today, talk about ‘seeking God’s face’? What does it mean? Why is it important to them, and to us? May ‘seeking our Lord’s face’ become the highest priority in our lives. When we run to God first, longing for His presence and desiring His instruction, protection, provision, and direction, He fills us with the truth of His Word and His promises; we grow in our understanding of His character and personality, and we experience an increase in our growth, faith, love, peace and hope. (Psalm 14:2 and Psalm 27:8)

The Helmet of Salvation is all about our deliverance and redemption that is only found in Jesus! We need it because we are all sinners who need saving, and it is only through Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross that we can be saved and protected from the sin in our lives. We are forgiven of our sins, loved and accepted just as we are, and because of Jesus we have the promise of eternal life. The enemy cannot ever steal that away from us!
“Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.” (Ephesians 6:17)

Die Helm van Verlossing gaan oor ons redding en vrymaking wat ons slegs deur Jesus kan ontvang! Ons het dit nodig omdat ons almal sondaars is wat gered moet word deur Jesus en Sy offer aan die kruis wat ons beskerm teen sonde in ons lewens. Ons is vergewe van ons sondes, geliefd en aanvaar net soos ons is, en as gevolg van Jesus ontvang ons die belofte van ‘n ewige lewe saam met ons Vader God in die Hemel. Die vyand kan dit nooit van ons af steel nie!
“En neem aan die helm van verlossing en die swaard van die Gees — dit is die woord van God...”
(Efesiërs 6:17)

As we read God’s Word, from Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth,” to Revelation 22:21, “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen,” we find God’s faithfulness and plan for our lives. In that plan, we see that we are created with a purpose and for a purpose, both for our good and for His glory. May we trust in Jesus and His life-giving love, knowing that He fills our hearts with His light as we walk by faith and perceive His miracle-working power now and for all eternity. (John 1:1-5)

Have you ever wondered why Jesus referred to us as sheep? Sheep, by their very nature, are prone to wander off from the safety of their flock. They are programmed by their creator to follow each other. Sheep are almost totally lacking in protection from predators. They lack wisdom to discern good from evil and are unable to be transformed into the likeness and image of their shepherd. But they know that they are stronger together as they submit to their shepherd who guides, directs, and protects them. Jesus is that loving Shepherd, inviting us into His flock. (John 10:11-18)

There are so many battles in today’s world… emotional, physical, spiritual, mental, relational, financial and occupational. Do you ever wonder if you are battling on all these fronts by yourself? As we read and believe God’s Holy Word, we realise that whether in or out of battle, Jesus never forsakes us, and God Himself fights on our behalf. He is with us to quench our thirst and He is faithful to bring the victory we so desperately need. Our faithfulness leads to obedience, which activates God’s miracle-working power to fight the good fight of faith, with Him at our side. (Exodus 14:14 & Joshua 24:17-18)

Die swaard van die Gees is die Woord van God. Dit is 'n kragtige wapen, want dit help ons om te veg teen versoekings en om vas te staan teen die leuens van die vyand. God se Woord is die enigste waarheid waarop ons kan staatmaak, en hierdie WAARHEID sal ons vrymaak en ons help om volgens Sy wil te lewe.
